***AHA 2025 UPDATES**
The American Heart Association has released, effective October 22, 2025, its UPDATED ECC Guidelines. We strongly recommend you take a moment to review these changes and the evidence-based science from which these changes were implemented. Some of the KEY changes include (but are not limited to):
Public access to, and strong emphasis on the administration of Naloxone (NARCAN) for suspected opioid-related cardiopulmonary distress or arrest
Use of head tilt/chin lift when a jaw thrust fails to open and maintain a patent airway
Use of Back Blows in the Adult and Child choking (FBAO) sequence for conscious victims (5 Back Blows, 5 Heimlich Abdominal Thrusts)
Removal of the 2-Finger Technique for Infant Chest Compressions (Replaced with Heel-Of-Hand chest placement) - Use Thumbs Encircling Hands Technique for 2-rescuer Infant CPR
Post Resuscitation Debriefing and Psychosocial Support for rescuers
Continued emphasis on reducing pauses between chest compressions during airway management or AED application/use
